Tomato sauce is better served on pasta, not in a taco. The air fryer will make Taco Tuesdays the hottest night of your week-a absolute no-brainer for anyone who likes tacos but hates spending hours hunched over pans! And with an electric convection oven that cooks evenly all around, it’s perfect if you want to take Tex Mex cuisine up a level and serve fajitas quick as can be without any frying at all.

Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas

You know how frustrating it is when you cook frozen fajita filling in the pan and keep having to hover over the stove, waiting for that perfect moment? It doesn’t have to be this way. Cooking with an air fryer eliminates all of these hassles because there’s no need to constantly monitor or hover over a burner–all without compromising on taste! Besides being more convenient than cooking your dish in a high-temperature environment (which requires constant stirring), cleaning up takes less time. Cleaning food off dishes can make anyone lose their appetite; not so with an air fryer! Wipe down any residual grease from the basket after using hot soapy water, or place it right into the dishwasher for easy cleanup.

I use my Air Fryer all the time to make fajitas because it’s so convenient and easy! I have two favorites, Chicken Fajita or Shrimp Fajita. When you cook your food in an air fryer instead of a traditional oven, it means that you won’t need to reheat the whole thing as a massive oven does. The food cooks quicker too, which is nice when cooking for more than one person at once – especially if they’re hungry people!

What Does Fajita Mean?

Fajitas are a popular dish with many variations. The word comes from the Spanish “faja” meaning belt or strip and is made of skirt steak, but can also be chicken, shrimp etc. Fajita is a Mexican dish invented in the early 1940s. In Spanish, Faja means girdle or belt and refers to the decorative strips of meat used on chicken fajitas.

It was introduced by Chili’s Bar & Grill, with chicken being a significant ingredient. But chicken fajitas are chicken and marinated chicken grilled and served on a plate with onions, guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortillas.

Classic chicken fajita recipe calls for chicken breast meat. But chicken leg quarters or chicken thighs can also be used to prepare these chicken fajitas. The marinade includes lime juice, cilantro, and seasonings like canned chipotle chilies, cumin, garlic, and salt.

Chicken fajitas can be served with chicken strips that are chicken breast meat or chicken leg quarters meat, or chicken thighs meat. Usually, chicken leg quarters meat is preferred because of the cost-effectiveness. Chicken strips can be grilled on a stovetop grill pan or charcoal grill or a chicken fajita shawarma machine.

Chicken fajitas are usually served in flour tortillas with salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and grated cheese. It is not uncommon to have chicken fajita seasoning packets at the table so that patrons can add chicken fajita flavor according to their preference. And chicken fajita can also be served with chicken strips, tortillas, or chicken fajita shawarma. Chicken fajitas are served with chicken thighs on the bone or chicken breast meat that is boneless and the chicken drumsticks (upper part of chicken legs), fried but presented fresh, so they look like chicken breast meat chicken strips.

Chicken fajitas are made with chicken thigh pieces or chicken drumsticks and chicken breast meat, which may be chicken leg quarters or chicken strips. These chicken parts are marinated in a Mexican-inspired seasoning mixture consisting of garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and lime juice.

In the Air Fryer, the Texture is Better

In the air fryer, you’ll be able to enjoy the perfect texture of your filling. Unlike on a stovetop where moisture seeps out and makes it wetter than desired, all that liquid will drip into the bottom of the appliance while cooking, resulting in crispy vegetables and uniformly cooked chicken with no spillage! Even if you’re making tacos or fajitas for the family night- nothing is more disappointing than seeing soggy shells or tortillas when they get dumped onto your plate.

I love cooking fajitas, no matter what time of day it is! Frozen fajita filling in the air fryer saves not only my evening but also your diners’ appetite. If you’re short on time and need to feed a hungry family after work or dinner with friends without any more hassle, frozen Faja Filling can be heated up quickly for a fresh meal that everyone will enjoy.
